Homes for Heroes Oregon
Real Savings for the People Who Serve
Shannon McAlister | Homes for Heroes Mortgage Specialist
Homes for Heroes is a national program that provides savings to firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, healthcare workers, educators and military personnel when they buy, sell or finance a home – because the people who serve our communities deserve more than a thank you.
I joined Homes for Heroes 12+ years ago to do one thing: put real money back in the pockets of the people who earned it.

What Is Homes for Heroes?
Sample Oregon Hero Savings
Homes for Heroes started in Minneapolis after 9/11 as a way to say thank you to the people who serve their communities. What started locally grew into a nationwide program connecting heroes with real estate and mortgage professionals committed to giving back to those who serve.
Homes for Heroes is open to: firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, healthcare workers, educators, and military personnel.
Heroes save money when they buy, sell, or refinance a home. The Homes for Heroes Foundation extends that mission further, supporting heroes and local communities in need. Thirteen years in, it’s still one of the most meaningful programs I have been part of.
